Mr. & Mrs. Omar Cabrera were the recipients of four Walmart $100.00 gift cards because they were the victims of a serious fire in their home in April 2009. There were 4 members of the family living there at the time. The money for the gift cards comes from the income received from the NJ/NY Volunteer Firemen's Association Clothing Bins that are placed in various towns throughout Bergen County. |

Elaine Saigh, wife of firefighter George Saigh of the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department, has just completed a labor of love. She took on a project in October 2006 to make a Lap Quilt for each resident of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Home in Boonton, NJ. She completed the project, on her own, 12 months later and delivered 70 Lap Quilts to the home. She said it was her way of thanking the veteran fire fighters for the sacrifices and dedication they made to the fire service. She made the presentation of the quilts to the Board of Managers of the Home on Saturday November 10, 2007.
