The Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah, NJ will be hosting the 1st Annual Firefighter's Challenge on Saturday, October 16. The event will be held at the Fire Academy in Mahwah. The Bergenfield Fire Training Center is presenting a One Day seminar covering Engine and Truck Company operations. FDNY Battalion Chief John Salka will cover Engine Ops and FDNY Lt Michael Campo will cover Truck Ops. The Seminar is March 20th, starting at 8:30 am at the Bergenfield High School. Here Comes Peter Cottontail
The Norwood Fire Company will host it’s 30th. Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kennedy Memorial Park on Sunday, March 28th. Starting at 1:30PM. Peter Cottontail, Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, Smokey the Bear and Barney will be there to play with the children and award prizes to the lucky winners in all age groups up to 10 years old. For the older children there will also be a n egg toss contest. All children will receive candy and must be accompanied by parents. Bring your camera and come out and have lots of fun with the firefighters. THERE WILL BE NO RAIN DATE!


Tenafly, along with several area municipalities, is part of the New Jersey & New York Volunteer Firemen's Assn which sponsors a Give Back program with H&M Leasing, a used clothing collector. The White Bins are located at Municipal Recycling locations. Gift Cards are awarded to residents who suffer losses due to "Fire" to help get back on their feet.
