The Captain Buscio Program
Created by Donna Buscio in memory of her husband, Jersey City Fire Captain Dominick Buscio, this program offers New Jersey first responders and their families an annual, confidential heart and lung evaluation. Captain Buscio died of a sudden heart attack at age 39, despite appearing healthy. His story underscores the value of checking for risks before symptoms appear.
Each evaluation is tailored to the person’s health history and may include bloodwork, an EKG, heart testing, lung function testing, or imaging when clinically indicated.
